The Service

TasteBuds has a carefully curated and diverse service staff that is experienced and well versed in providing stellar service for you and your guests. Most of our staff has been with TasteBuds for years, which means you and your guests benefit from a team that knows how to divide and conquer in the smoothest way possible. We do not outsource staff and prefer to build our service team with thoughtful, warm, and fun humans who take care of you and your guests as though they were family.

The Food

Born and bred in the heart of Los Angeles, TasteBuds has California cuisine down to an art. We source fresh and local ingredients to make from-scratch food. You will not find a frozen appetizer box anywhere in our kitchen. We blend flavors and elements from all the cuisines and cultures we are so lucky to be surrounded with here in California. We honor your roots and ours, and wrap it all up with a delicious bow!

The Details

We are absolute suckers for a little detail. Your first date was at an Indian restaurant? Let’s throw in an Indian appetizer for your wedding cocktail hour! Your grandma is turning 70 and is famous for making a killer banana pudding? Give us a recipe and we will make her proud! You’re throwing a premiere party for a major production? We’ll incorporate elevated elements from the show into our menu! Details matter almost as much as the main meal, and at TasteBuds, we like to make the little things a big deal.

Hi, I’m Natalia, Chef-Owner of TasteBuds Catering, Inc.
and I’m so glad you’re here! 

I have loved food since I was a kid, roasting green chiles with my grandpa in his backyard. Like so many families and cultures do, my Mexican family gathered, grew, and connected around food. So, when it came time to decide what I wanted to do with my life, it was a no brainer. Immediately after high school, I attended Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena where I learned the classic French cuisine fundamentals and spent almost a decade working in restaurants, eventually finding my niche in catering.

TasteBuds is an extension of me as a person, and I’m with you from planning to plate. I am lucky enough to be able to be selective with the events that I take, and never take more than one wedding per week so that you and yours get the absolute focus and attention you deserve. You will not be working with 8 different people leading up to your event and have a completely new person arrive day-of. My clients benefit from a level of care that I am able to give because I care, and because TasteBuds is, quite simply, my baby (and I’m a pretty good mom).

I have had the pleasure of running TasteBuds since 2006, being lucky enough to serve clients that have become close friends, work for major brands and productions, and create experiences for A-list celebrities and clientele with the utmost discretion. I hope to add you and yours to that list!

Fun Facts

  • I have been married to my culinary school sweetheart for almost 19 years and am a mom to two teenage boys who, thankfully, still think I’m cool.

  • I love reading a twisty thriller and pride myself on figuring out the twist before you’re meant to.

  • My favorite day-off activities: Decompressing with a healthy Netflix binge (yes, I’m still watching Netflix, taking my kids to experience food from other cultures and ethnicities (Korean is their favorite!) and being by the water (beach always and forever.)
